Event description

Description

Join us for mince pies and bucks fizz and get into the festive spirit a week or so early whilst we bring you up-to-date on pivotal developments in the world of HR and employment.

We will be hosting a light-hearted session with Christmas gifts for all attendees and prizes to be won alongside our normal advice, tips and networking.

The briefing will cover:

  • Does age discrimination arise if you use the word “traditional”? It’s certainly worth considering in view of the Gomes case

  • Consideration of whether an innocent party will be liable for their conduct/advice even though they are not a decision-maker on a disciplinary matter?

  • Whether an employee can rely on privacy for a personal document saved to his employer’s server (Simpkin); is this in direct conflict with the prominent ECHR decision in Bărbulescu v Romania?

  • The extent you can renegotiate terms of employment with ease – who would have thought a simple holiday variation could be problematic (Merill Corporation Limited)

  • Further golden nuggets on GDPR and its actual reach e.g. do you really need a Data Protection Officer given your operations size?

The update is free. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis.
