Event description

Description

London’s Other Favourite Night of Renaissance Motets & Booze!™'s residency at Travelling Through.

You lucky, lucky people - we're breaking our summer holiday to bring you an extra evening of marvellous singing and boozing!

It's a 6.30pm kick-off and the bookshop is locked at the same time so please don't book unless you know you can be in before that time.

Spaces are limited and we must ask that you don't book unless you are absolutely sure you can make it on time. Please also read the FAQs below.

FAQs

Do I need to be able to read music to take part?

You do need to be a confident sight singer; the Counterpint in the Café sessions are half the size of the regular PDtP singalongs so you should be willing and able to hold your line against the other voices.

What happens if I book but don't turn up?

As we need to rely on everyone being there for the balance of voices, any no-shows or cancellations on the day will be excluded from booking future Counterpint in the Café sessions. Cruel but fair.

Do you provide print-outs of the sheet music?

No, only the links to the sheet music; you need to print out the pages yourself or better yet, save them to a tablet and do the planet a favour. NB You must download your scores in advance as the cafe does not have sufficient wifi to download on the night.

Is there food and drink at the venue?

The cafe provides very reasonably priced light bites, plus excellent wines and bottled beers.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Travelling Through's cafe is located on the lower ground floor with no lift so regrettably the event is not suitable for anyone who is unable to use stairs.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Tube, rail, bus, bicycle, on foot - see polyphonydownthepub.com/counterpint or tfl.gov.uk for details but note that Waterloo station is undergoing extensive works during August and so your travel may be disrupted.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

See polyphonydownthepub.com for all the answers you could ever wish for.
