Peace Child's 35th Anniversary and Global Youth Job Creation Appeal
Mon 7 November 2016, 18:00 – 20:00 GMT
Peace Child's 35th Birthday Drinks Party at the London Office of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
You are cordially invited to celebrate Peace Child’s 35 years of achievement and the launch of our Global Youth Job Creation Appeal.
Around the world, there are an estimated 620 million young people not in work, education or training - 865,000 in the UK alone. The World Bank estimates that youth unemployment costs the global economy a staggering $3 to $5 trillion a year.
Through our Global Youth Job Creation Appeal we shall, with your help, support 60,000 young people to get a job or start a business by 2020 – young people who in turn will help grow our international network of young job creation advocates skilled in mentoring and supporting their peers to get, or create, decent jobs.
We would be delighted if you could join us and hear more from:
- Jeremy Lefroy MP, Chair of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF, and member of the House of Commons International Development Committee
- Alexander Woollcombe, outgoing Head of Campaigns at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and life-long Peace Child ambassador
- Adriana Poglia, Peace Child's new CEO who has designed and will lead the next phase of our global expansion efforts.
We are actively looking for organisations with whom to partner and deliver solutions to the global challenge of youth unemployment.
Please register now to secure your place by clicking on the green Attend Event button at the top of this invitation. If you are unable to join us, we would be grateful if you could kindly forward this invitation to someone in your network who might be interested in our work.
