As part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week from 11th – 18th October 2025, the Tower Hamlets LGBTQ+ Community Forum are leading a Peace Walk in the borough to bring together communities and organisations representing those who experience hate crime and our allies.
The theme for this year's National Hate Crime Awareness Week is Disability Hate Crime.
When: Wednesday 15th October 2025
Time: 2.00 – 5pm
Where: Meeting at Shaheed Minar Memorial in Altab Ali Park and walking to Rich Mix, Bethnal Green Road.
2.15pm: Walk Route
Please note: The walk will be on the pavement.
We will set off at 2.15pm and walk up Brick Lane to Rich Mix.
2.45pm: Event at Rich Mix
- Speeches from representatives of peace supporting organisations talking about the impact of hate crime
- Refreshments
- World Café: Tackling Hate Crime in Tower Hamlets
- Creative workshops
- Networking
5pm: End
Access Information:
The walk will be about 30 - 40 minutes in a straight line up Brick Lane. There are many obstacles on Brick Lane that make it not fully wheelchair accessible. Rich Mix is fully wheelchair accessible and if you wish to meet us at the venue at 3pm you are welcome to.
