In collaboration with the Peak District National Park Foundation, this volunteer day will allow you to get stuck in and help improve infrastructure for the Park’s visitors whilst helping nature thrive.

The event will be held at Ladybower Reservoir, one of the most popular and scenic spots in the Peak District. The area is very popular with walkers, cyclists, and accessible vehicle users, and you will help our leaders repair and conserve access on paths and bridleways. Activities will involve using mattocks, spades and brushes to repair surfaces and clear drainage areas along the bridleways, or possibly cutting back vegetation for ease of access, using loppers and secateurs.

We will provide the following:

2 volunteer leaders to ensure your day is safe, enjoyable and meaningful. All our leaders have extensive in-house training, 2-day first aid and DBS checked where required.
All personal protective equipment (including work gloves), tools and equipment required for the volunteer activity.
Risk assessments and public liability insurance whilst undertaking the activity.
Lunch and refreshments provided by the Peak District Foundation

Please bring your own work clothes and footwear, suitable for working outside in all weathers. Bear in mind some tasks / times of year may mean clothes will get wet, muddy or scuffed up. See our What to Wear guide for more information.

Please note the nearest toilets are located at the visitor centre, where we will be based at the start and end of the day.

Meeting point: outside the public toilets, Fairholmes Car Park – please note the visitor centre is currently closed but the food kiosk remains open.

NB This is a pay & display car park operated by Severn Trent - our leaders can issue a one-day permit for you on the day if you request it.
