Pearla's Palate is coming to Bristol!
Sat 8 April 2017, 20:30 – 21:30 BST
"I experience taste confusion - what you see is not necessarily what you get. A sweet dish can taste sour and vice versa."
Come to our pop-up restaurant Pearla's Palate and be served a tasting menu like no others!
During the 60 minutes at Pearla's Palate you will try 6-10 dishes created to specifically provoke a sensory response. Smells, flavours, textures, colours & sounds are all stimulated when we eat. Eating is therefore a multi-sensory activity, food that you enjoy eating will be relating to the integration of all your senses working together. Have you ever wondered how people with sensory disorders experience food?
Why not book a seat at a table in Pearla's Palate for you and a loved one, your whole family or come alone and make some friends. (You can also book a table for 10 people so why not bring your office for a team evening out!)
All dishes are created based on how people with sensory processing disorder have described food to be. We created this installation originally with a school for autistic children to help educate the staff about the impact sensory difficulties have on mealtimes. We want to offer this learning experience to the public.
