Peas Please Scotland workshop
Thu 23 March 2017, 10:00 – 13:00 GMT
This workshop brings together stakeholders from Scotland to agree next steps for Peas Please. We'll be bringing together the key ideas and proposals from the 8 working groups which have been meeting across the UK, and look at how to take them forward in Scotland.
So far about 200 people have taken part in the themed workshops, and we are collating the main asks with the different co-chairs from the sector. At the moment these include setting a target for increasing horticultural production, raising the level of veg in ready meals, and extending dignified ways of subsidising low income households to buy more veg - plus other asks on broadcasting, skills, convenience stores and veg in cities.
We will also be discussing a ' veg summit' in Scotland, currently pencilled in for June 22 at the Highland Show. This would bring together people from the industry, government and civil society for a public launch of the agreed commitments.
The workshop will be co-chaired by Pete Ritchie from Nourish Scotland and Anna Taylor from the Food Foundation.
We'll circulate an update report on the project ahead of the meeting, in the week starting 13 March
