Description
PechaKucha Night Manchester Vol. 28 - 'Rebellion'
For our third PechaKucha night of 2019 we're heading over to People's History Museum to be part of their monthly Radical Lates series! As ever, we will be bringing 10 creatives to take on the PechaKucha challenge: to present on a topic using 20 images, with only 20 seconds per image. No stopping.
The theme of this event is 'Rebellion'. 2019 marks the 200th anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre, a key moment in Manchester's history and the fight for greater democracy and representation in Britain. We were inspired by those actions to tell stories of rebellion, resistance and protest; from people who challenge the status quo to those working hard to ensure that we remember the struggles that have got us to where we are today.
We’ll hear from an eclectic mix of speakers from the worlds of graphic design, politics and community engagement! Plus we'll have a workshop on creative lettering run by Loz Ives of Idle Letters!
WARNING: Tickets go mega quickly, so act fast to get yours! Also, note the slightly earlier start and finish times. Finally, we will be looking to video and audio record the event. If you have any concerns about being filmed, please get in touch.

About People's History Museum
"PHM is the national museum of democracy, telling the story of its development in Britain: past, present, and future. The museum provides opportunities for all people to learn about, be inspired by and get involved in ideas worth fighting for; ideas such as equality, social justice, co-operation, and a fair world for all. PHM’s year long programme for 2019 explores the past, present and future of protest, marking 200 years since the Peterloo Massacre; a major event in Manchester’s history, and a defining moment for Britain’s democracy."
About PechaKucha Night Manchester
PechaKucha Night Manchester was relaunched in June 2016 by a new team after an eighteen month hiatus.
This is our fifteenth PechaKucha following a string of successful events. We are indebted to the support of Manchester’s creative scene coming along as speakers and audience members as well as our previous hosts, SpacePortX, Ziferblat, The Wonder Inn, Neo, the Rapha Clubhouse, PLANT, Texture, the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, the Bright Building, the Fairfield Social Club (twice), Colony, The Whitworth and LEAF on Portland St. Most importantly, thank YOU for keeping us going!
PechaKucha Nights will continue to take place every three months at venues across Manchester. Our mission is to feature a high calibre of creatives, designers, artists and community projects from the city and the North.
