Event description
Looking Glass Collective celebrate Black History Month at Peckham Levels with a screening of Atlantics (2019).

About this Event

On the surface Atlantics is a familiar story of lovers, Ada and Souleimane kept apart by circumstances beyond their control. But it quickly reveals itself to be a blend of a story of desperation, supernatural happenings, echoes of the refugee crisis, a look at the wealth gap in Africa, and the fetishization of virginity, purity, and marriage. Directed by Senegalese filmmaker Mati Diop.

With a focus on Black female directors, and films with Black female leads, Looking Glass Collective and Peckham Levels are excited to bring you Mati Diop's Atlantics.

Please head to the Level 6 Auditorium upon arrival, where a member of the site team will check your tickets and seat you and your guests!
