Looking Glass Collective celebrate Black History Month at Peckham Levels with a screening of Miss Juneteenth (2020).

About this Event

Turquoise Jones a single mother and former beauty queen is determined that her daughter, Kai wins the same Miss Juneteenth pageant she herself won as a teenager. A soulful but uplifting drama of mother-daughter bonds and deferred dreams. Directed by Channing Godfrey Peoples and is inspired by her own upbringing in Texas where the annual Miss Juneteenth pageant takes place.

With a focus on Black female directors, and films with Black female leads, Looking Glass Collective and Peckham Levels are excited to bring you Channing Godfrey Peoples's Miss Juneteenth.

Please head to the Level 6 Auditorium upon arrival, where a member of the site team will check your tickets and seat you and your guests!

A note on COVID-19:

  • Please wear a face mask when entering Peckham Levels, and when moving around the site.
  • Any guests, who are not Members of Peckham Levels, will need to provide contact details at the security desk, or scan our QR code using the NHS Track & Trace app.
  • Keep a 2 meter distance from other guests where possible.
  • Guests can attend in group of up to 6 people.
  • Tables will be set up to allow for social distancing between groups.
