Limited places. Deadline to register 11 Novemember 2016.
This session will be an interactive workshop in which we consider the possibilities and problems in decolonising pedagogies. We will interrogate, together, processes of knowledge creation and normalisation, exploring possibilities for the deprivileging of persistently dominant discourses through education. We will organise the workshop in such a way that participants can engage with authors from different perspectives, with each other and with the facilitators. We aim to produce an atmosphere that encourages discussion and reflection, and allows for both disagreement and consensus.
We will be making short readings available online a week or two in advance to those who express an interest in coming. It would be very helpful if you could engage with these before the workshop. (readings online/ CRASSH event page).
Health warning: there will be no lectures though there will be short inputs from both facilitators.
