Description

Peer Learning Forum: Understanding Communities

Kindy hosted by Marsh, the purpose of this practical session is for businesses to share experiences of working with their communities and learn from each other. Usha Manojkanth, incoming Engagement Manager and Jennifer Black, Community Advisor at BITC will be facilitating the session.

We are delighted that Warren Kozera, Director at Barkers & Co. LLP will be presenting Barkers & Bolton Family’s place-based approach, winner of Business in the Community’s Connected Places Award 2019. You can find out more here about the great work they have been doing.

This is a Community Partner level event, open to members as a taster event. Our Champion Community Partners Marsh are kindly hosting the event and providing a light lunch beforehand.

The session will cover the following areas and there will be lots of opportunity for discussion:

1. Who are your local communities and how do you identify them?

2. How do you identify the key issues facing your local communities? Which of these are most relevant to your business?

3. How do you engage local stakeholders to identify and understand local needs and what are the mechanisms for this?

4. How do you establish a collaborative place-based approach to working together to tackle the key issues identified?

5. What ‘good’ looks like when taking a place-based approach to understanding and engaging your community
