About this event

  • 1 day 6 hours

Peer mediation equips children with the skills and confidence to resolve or ease conflicts when they arise within their year group. School communities that have peer mediation schemes report:

• Increased empathy, understanding, and pro-social behaviours across the school.

• Increased confidence and academic attainment of peer mediators themselves.

• Staff spending less time dealing with disputes, leaving more time for teaching and learning.

This train the trainer course is aimed at those who want to learn the skills and tools to put peer mediation schemes into practice in primary schools. Over three days participants will learn:

• the principles and key processes underpinning successful peer mediation schemes

• to become confident and comfortable with activities that can be used to deliver peer mediation training to primary school children

• to work with schools to implement a sustainable Peer Mediation Scheme

Ideally two members of staff will attend from each school. At least one attendee should have strategic authority to implement the scheme and the capacity to provide some ongoing support to peer mediators.

Ticket price includes training, materials and lunch and refreshements
