Peer Support Group Facilitator Training
Our three day peer support facilitator training takes delegates through the key skills and knowledge required from starting and facilitating a group to troubleshooting common group issues. Styled in a peer-group format, the training is experiential and interactive.

- Setting up a peer support group.
- The role & skills of a facilitator.
- Trauma informed, intersectional and rights based approaches.
- Troubleshooting common group issues.
Suitable for: peer support facilitators establishing groups in the community, VCSE or statutory services (e.g. NHS), employer peer support programmes.
Example sectors: independent, charity & community, mental health care, criminal justice, social care, housing.

Our three day peer support facilitator training will be hosted at local independent hotel conference venue, Lumley Castle. Overlooking the town of Chester-le-Street, County Durham and set in riverside woodland, we invite you to join us for three days of peer support training. Over the three days of training, we will build connections and collaborate in our learning, and take every opportunity to explore our beautiful surroundings.
Travel:
By train: Chester-le-Street has a small railway station on the East Coast mainline, and can also be easily reached from Durham and Newcastle Railway Stations.
By coach/bus: Lumley Castle is a 30 minute walk from Chester-le-Street town centre, which is served by regional bus services. Local accessible bus routes 78 (Consett to Sunderland via Chester-le-Street ) and 71 from (Seaham to Chester-le-Street) stop at the bottom of the castle drive near the golf course.
By car: Chester-le-Street is at junction 63 on the A1M and also 15 minutes to the west of A19 at Durham/Sunderland exit. Parking is available at the venue.
