✍️呢個小組會在每月既其中一個星期二晚上8:00-9:00，希望建立持續穩定嘅社區支援，所以你地既持續參與非常重要！

💬 呢個小組主要由BARNARDO's 香港人義工帶領討論，最後，我哋期望街坊小組可以由當區參加者獨立帶領同協調，達到自我運作嘅目標！

Let's Join Our Peer Support Group for Hong Kongers !👋

💪 Our Hong Kong Peer Support Group is designed just for you! It's a space for Hong Kongers living in the UK to chat, share your experiences, listen to others’ stories, learn together, and support each other as we face the challenges of a new life!

✍️ This group will have meeting on a Tuesday evening 8:00-9:00 PM each month. We aim to build a consistent and stable community support system, so your continuous participation is very important!

💬 This group will primarily be facilitated by Barnardo's Hong Kong volunteers. Ultimately, we hope that the group will become independently led and coordinated by the local participants, achieving the goal of self-sustainability!

呢個小組主要由義工帶領及支援，咁Barnardo's組織嘅角色係咩呢？

Barnardo 將提供一個平台, 支援和監督，確保在香港街坊谷的有效和安全運作：

• 指導和培訓：Barnardo 將提供初期和持續的培訓給予義工，確保他們具備有效主持小組所需的技能。

• 保護和風險管理：Barnardo 將隨時提供支持，協助義工識別和管理保護問題。義工可以將超出小組範疇的問題轉介給 Barnardo 的香港熱線。

• 香港熱線支援：參與者若需要個別或更專門的支持，也可以聯繫 Barnardo 的香港熱線尋求幫助。

• 長期目標：Barnardo 的目標是賦權社區，讓小組在長期內由志願者和參與者獨立主導，同時 Barnardo 會作為主辦單位提供平台及支援協助。

Barnardo’s 義工者角色與責任?

• 主持人角色：志願者的角色是引導討論流程，確保小組保持專注、尊重和包容。他們不是輔導員，但會確保參與者感到得到支持。

• 維持界限：志願者負責設定和維持小組的界限，確保所有參與者遵守既定的規則。

• 保密：志願者將維護保密性，確保小組內分享的任何信息不會洩露到外部，除非有保護性問題。

• 保護：志願者經過培訓，能識別參與者可能處於風險中的情況，並在此類情況下，按照Barnardo的保護程序提供必要的支持。

• 鼓勵同行支持：志願者將促進以同行為主導的討論，確保小組逐步成為參與者主導的群體。

• 小組協調: 志願者可能會擔任小組協調員，促進溝通並支持小組的整體組織。

This group mainly supported by the volunteers, so what is the Role of Barnardo's organisaiton?

Barnardo's will provide a platform, support and oversight to ensure the Peer Support Group operates effectively and safely:

• Guidance and Training: Barnardo’s will offer initial and ongoing training for volunteers, ensuring they have the skills needed to facilitate the group effectively.

• Safeguarding and Risk Management: Barnardo’s will remain available to support volunteers in identifying and managing safeguarding concerns. Volunteers can refer any issues beyond the scope of the group to Barnardo’s HK Helpline.

• Helpline Support: Participants can also reach out to Barnardo’s HK Helpline for further assistance if they require individual or more specialized support.

• Long-term Goal: Barnardo’s aims to empower the community, allowing the group to be independently led by volunteers and participants over time, with Barnardo’s available as a support resource.

What is Barnardo's Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities?

The volunteers facilitating the group are committed to ensuring a supportive and respectful environment in line with Barnardo’s core values:

• Facilitator Role: Volunteers are there to guide the flow of the conversation, ensuring that the group remains focused, respectful, and inclusive. They are not counselors but will ensure that participants feel supported.
• Maintaining Boundaries: Volunteers are responsible for setting and maintaining the group’s boundaries and ensuring that all participants adhere to the established rules.
• Confidentiality: Volunteers will uphold confidentiality, ensuring that no information shared within the group is disclosed outside, unless there are safeguarding concerns.
• Safeguarding: Volunteers are trained to recognize when a participant may be at risk and, in such cases, will follow Barnardo’s safeguarding protocols to provide the necessary support.
• Encouraging Peer Support: Volunteers will promote peer-led discussions and ensure that the group evolves to be participant-driven over time.
• Peer Group Coordination: Volunteer might act as the coordinator of the peer group, facilitating communication and supporting the group's overall organization.
