The Peer2Peer (P2P) series of networking opportunities enables staff and volunteers from museums and heritage organisations of all shapes and sizes from all over Kent & Medway, to get together and share their experiences of a particular topic.
The format of these sessions is always the same: it starts with up to 10 museums giving a short informal presentation or talk on their experiences, tips, recommendations, ponderings, ideas, requests on the specific topic. Discussions after each short presentation will be held so that others can ask questions or bounce ideas off each other. The session draws to a close with a general networking opportunity - this is where you can seek out that person you've been meaning to talk to, chat with them about a great idea you've had for a project or partnership working, and don't forget to exchange contact details!
The session is informal; teas, coffees, biccies, cake and a sense of humour are a must!
SOCIAL MEDIA AND MUSEUMS
Do you use social media? What do you use? How do you use it? Do you analyse the stats and understand the sort of reach your Tweets can have? Are you up to date on all your hashtagging lingo? Are you a serial blogger?...
If so, and you want to share your knowledge and skills with others, then come along to this session and present a short overview of how you 'do' social media in your museum.
Are you new to social media? Not sure how to use it? Don't know whether it is relevant to your museum or whether it is a legitimate way of engaging with audiences? What about all these new fangled tools and free pieces of software, such as the ones you can use to make infographics? What's an infographic?...
Then come along to this session and find out how others are doing it.
