Event description
The Physiotherapy Pain Association North is delighted to present an afternoon workshop on pelvic health and pelvic pain.

About this Event

Join us for an afternoon workshop to develop understanding of common issues that arise with pelvic pain, and pelvic health issues that can develop along side a persistent pain condition.

"Pelvic pain - a personal perspective"

Ruth Barber is a yoga and mindfulness teacher who also has persistent pain. Ruth will share her experiences with pelvic pain and how she manages the issues that arise.

"Demystifying the female pelvic floor"

Alison Hennessey is the physiotherapist in the EXPPECT Service, the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Team in the University of Edinburgh. Alison is a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist who works in NHS Lothian as an APP in Pelvic Floor and Continence Service and in the NHS Borders Bladder and Bowel Service.

"Trauma and pelvic pain"

Fiona McAslan is an APP in Pain Management in NHS Fife. She has an interest in pelvic pain. Fiona has collaborated extensively with the pelvic health physiotherapists in Fife on patient care and staff training.

Refreshments (tea and coffee) will be provided and are included in the price of your ticket.

The Physiotherapy Pain Association North aims to support physiotherapists, and others serving people with pain in their professional development. We aim to support clinicians to improve their knowledge and skills to provide person centred care to people in complex acute and persistent pain.
