PEMBROKESHIRE BIRD GROUP WADER WATCH AT ANGLE BAY
Overview
Angle Bay is one of the best places to see waders such as Knot, Godwits, Dunlin, Redshank, Curlew, Whimbrel and Oystercatcher. Scarcer species such as Curlew Sandpiper and Little Stint may also be encountered. Hopefully the rising tide will push the waders and wildfowl towards us. So don't forget your binoculars and telescope (if you have one).
Plan on meeting at 1200 (High Tide is 3pm) to watch the rising tide. However, should wish to start birding earlier in the morning there is Castlemartin Corse renowned for wildfowl, waders and raptors, but please be aware this can be extremely wet. Alternatively there is the beutiful beach at Freshwater West to look for shorebirds.
