Writing a women’s story for 'From The Cauldron: Women's Voices in the 21st Century Competition'.

Eithne Cullen leads a workshop to generate ideas for stories and ways into writing them for From The Cauldron: Women’s Voices in the 21st Century competition, which closes for entries on Friday, 30 January 2026, at 12 pm.

This is an opportunity to explore women’s voices and roles, as well as begin your own story.

This session will include:

  • Free writing and discussion about setting
  • A writing activity based around famous groundbreaking women (character)
  • Using objects as prompts
  • Using inspirational lines from women’s writing as prompts for story writing

Eithne Cullen has been involved with Pen to Print for a number of years through competitions and as a regular contributor to Write On! magazine, where she is the page editor of the Thoughtful Tuesday page.

Eithne has had success with her own poetry and was crowned Poet Laureate of Plumstead in 2022. She has published two novels plus a poetry pamphlet supported by Pen to Print. Her poems and stories have appeared in magazines and she is currently the inaugural Poet Laureate of The Boathouse Studios.
