This is a relaxed and playful session to improve children’s drawing skills and confidence.

Discover and explore portraits in the Alfred East Gallery local art collection to spark creativity, learn about pencil drawing techniques, and practice proportions, measuring, and shading to draw facial features.

The session will start and finish with easy portrait drawing games and challenges guaranteed to make everyone smile. Parent involvement and silliness is encouraged!

  • All materials are provided but feel free to bring your favourite pencils and/or portrait photo to work from.
  • Our experienced facilitators will provide templates, instruction and guidance.
  • All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the whole session. One ticket per child. Accompanying adults do not need to book a ticket.

A free craft table will also be available for younger siblings and drop-in families between 10.30am and 2pm, where space is available.
