Event description

Description

We take the riverside path to Watermeetings, proceed to Blacko Foot and go towards Wheathead Lane along Blacko Water. We will take a refreshment break with views of Blacko and the tower above Bank Ends. From here we go via Hollin Top to Roughlee Old Hall, supposedly the home of Alice Nutter, one of the Pendle Witches. We walk through the village past the statue of Alice and the waterfall before ascending steeply towards Fulshaw Head for our return to Barrowford.

Approximate length of walk: 6 miles

Walk grading: Hard - walks with some difficult terrain and hilly sections (1 – 9 miles)

Pace of walk: we hope to set a faster pace with only occasional breaks.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for walking. The weather can change rapidly so please bring waterproofs. Please also bring drinking water.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Booking is essential for this walk. Please book a place through this website if you wish to take part.

Please ensure that if you arrive by car that you park considerately and pay any parking charges which are applicable.
