Event description

Description

We do a circular route via Kelbrook and look at former Co-op sites along the way. The Co-op at Kelbrook was part of the Colne & District Co-operative Society until Barnoldswick Co-operative Society won the argument that Kelbrook, like Barlick, was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire and therefore, any Kelbrook stores should belong to Barlick!

Approximate length of walk: 5 miles

Walk grading: Moderate - walks with gentle slopes and some stiles (1 – 6 miles)

Pace of walk: we will set a gentle pace with regular breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the view.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for walking. The weather can change rapidly so please bring waterproofs. Please also bring drinking water.

There are bus stops near the start location. The free car park is also large and the toilets should still be open before the start of the walk.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Up and Active Walks – These walks are included in a programme of walks which take place throughout the year. There is no need to book if you are a regular Up and Active walker.

Booking is essential for this walk apart from Up and Active walkers. Please book a place through this website if you wish to take part.

Please ensure that if you arrive by car that you park considerately and pay any parking charges which are applicable.
