Event description

Description

We will closely follow the Foulridge parish boundary in an anti-clockwise direction, learn a bit about Teddy Carr of Langroyd Hall, visit Tom Cross, spot a standing stone and look at the boundary stone at Kirk Bridge.

This route celebrates the 12th anniversary of the 'Foulridge Beating The Bounds' leaflet produced by Foulridge Parish Council and Pendle BC in August 2007.

Approximate length of walk: 9 miles

Walk grading: Hard - walks with some difficult terrain and hilly sections (1 – 9 miles)

Pace of walk: we will set a gentle pace with regular breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the view.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for walking. The weather can change rapidly so please bring waterproofs. Please also bring drinking water.

The route goes past Teddy Carr's shooting box in Kelbrook Wood and there may actually be some clay-pigeon shooting taking place. As for buses, the M3 & M4 are closest with bus stops 100 metres south of the Morris Dancers pub which has roads nearby for car parking.Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Booking is essential for this walk. Please book a place through this website if you wish to take part.

Please ensure that if you arrive by car that you park considerately and pay any parking charges which are applicable.
