Description

Walking in the footsteps of the "father of time", visiting interesting properties in the valleys in the pendle area. Each participant will receive a free booklet which tells the story of one of this area's most noteable historic characters.

Approximate length of walk: 5 miles

Walk grading: Moderate - walks with gentle slopes and some stiles (1 – 6 miles)

Pace of walk: we will set a gentle pace with regular breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the view.

Approximate amount of ascent: 50 metres

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for walking. The weather can change rapidly so please bring waterproofs. Please also bring drinking water.

There is free parking at start of walk. The bus service from Nelson stops nearby.

Please bring a packed lunch.

This is a family friendly walk and will include games, stories or “treasure” hunts to help children engage with the natural world and local history. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Booking is essential for this walk. Please book a place through this website if you wish to take part.

Please ensure that if you arrive by car that you park considerately and pay any parking charges which are applicable.
