Description

A circular walk from Foulridge to the trig point on the summit of Pendle and back.

Cargo cafe to Lake Burwain then up to Slipper Hill then we climb to Blacko. We then drop down to Watermeetings then up through the woods following the valley to Clarion House for our lunch stop. From here we walk up Jinny Lane to Newchurch in Pendle then up to Fell Wood. From here we climb the back end of Pendle arriving at the trig point. Down the steps to Barley then we follow the stream to Roughlee. We pass Alice Nutter and Roughlee Hall then join the Pendle way crossing the stepping stones up and over the hill and down the hill to the Pendle Heritage Center. We Join the Canal at Barrowford Locks for our final leg back to Foulridge.

This a dog friendly walk.

Approximate length of walk: 16 miles

Walk grading: Very Hard - longer walks with varied terrain (10+ miles)

Pace of walk: we hope to set a faster pace with only occasional breaks.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for walking. The weather can change rapidly so please bring waterproofs. Please also bring drinking water.

Please bring a packed lunch.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
