Pensions Seminar Two
The Governance Gap: Improving Accountability in DC Pensions Provision
Wednesday 15th May – Refreshments from 2.00pm. Debate will start promptly at 2.30pm
As growing numbers of employees are enrolled into defined contribution (DC) schemes the need to improve the governance of pension funds becomes ever more pressing. Is there an accountability deficit in workplace pensions? And if so how can it be overcome? Speakers at this event will debate the solutions.
Shadow Pensions Minister Gregg McClymont MP will set out his views on the change that Labour believes our pensions schemes need. Other speakers include Mark Hyde Harrison (NAPF), Dr Debbie Harrison (Cass Business School), Bridget Micklem (DWP) and Nigel Stanley (TUC). The panel will discuss options for improving the governance of DC pensions, such as a greater role for trustees, workplace management committees, and improving the accountability of pension providers and asset managers.
