Raspberry Pi  is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video. It is intended that people all over the world will use it to learn programming.

Raspberry Jam is a local user group that meets every month to support hobbyists, developers, teachers, students and families - in fact anybody that would like to put their Raspberry Pi to good use. While Raspberry Jam is not endorsed, sponsored or associated with Raspberry Pi or Raspberry Pi products or services, some of our regular members are contributors to Frambosenbier, Raspberry Filling, and are writing support materials for the Raspberry Pi. At our meetings we have helpful people who can help you with everything you need to get what you want from your Raspberry Pi.

Open Shed -- your host for this event -- is Britains newest (we're still going through the birth process) hackspace.  Find us in Champion's Yard -- through the gates to the right of the cinema on Causewayhead.  Drop in any time for a chat and a great cup of coffee.

Schedule - come in and leave at any time.  There will be talks starting at 2:30, repeated from 6:30: the rest of the afternoon, there will be opportunities to get some hands-on experience, share tips and ask questions.  The talks running order is:

• What the Raspberry Pi is, and why we're excited by it
• Café automation: our first play with the Pi
• Gordon Henderson, from Devon & Cornwall Gnu/Linux Users' Group, will demonstrate and discuss some of his projects
• Refreshment break
• Open mike for anyone who's brought a project for show and tell
• The Pi as a media centre: screening of a Creative Commons animation:
• Question time

Saturday - for those who can't make Wednesday, come on Saturday for for demonstrations and to play with a Pi.  No schedule: we'll run demonstrations whenever an interested person or group arrives.

Pi People - Whether you consider yourself a RasPi Pro, a nube or don't even what Raspberry Pi is - we encourage you to come along and find out more. If you have a Pi project that you would like to show, please bring it to our meeting. You will be struck by how welcoming, supportive and friendly our group are. 

Pi and Pint - After our meeting a group of us head to a nearby pub to follow our Pi with a pint.

If you would like to set up a Raspberry jam in your area send an enquiry here, other groups as far away as Melbourne are setting up their own. We have lots of things we can offer/do to help you get one started near you. 

The plan is to meet each month to share examples of what we have been doing with our Raspberry Pi computers and learn from each other.
