Event description
A series of lightning talks on issues around people power and grassroots growth. Come and hear from local leaders on issues concerning you.

About this Event

On 25th October, Inclusive Economy Liverpool will be joining forces with the People's Powerhouse to be hosting the next in our Forum series of talks at the Black-E, Great George Street, Liverpool. Starting at 9.30am and going through until 1pm (with a break for coffee, of course), there will be a chance to hear ten short talks on different aspects of the social economy - from Universal Basic Income to crowdfunding, from Community Wealth Building to democratising manufacturing.

Our speakers include:

Deborah Aydon of The People’s Pool: a vision for a new lido for the City Region, which she’s now working with partners to turn into a reality.

Janette Williamson from Wirral Council, where she is leading on Community Wealth Building and setting up a new bank.

Hannah Forbes from The Funding Crowd, a Liverpool-based crowdfunding consultancy helping businesses raise funding on sites such as Crowdcube, Seedrs and Kickstarter.

And many more.

We're bringing together leading local figures from the worlds of business, academia, politics and charity for a half-day of lightning talks on the ideas they think can help to improve the world around us.

We're keeping the talks short (all will be between ten and fifteen minutes in length) so we can hear from as many people as possible.

Ticket prices are being kept deliberately low and are priced at just £9 each to cover costs, with discounts for unwaged attendees.
