Event description

Description

Devised by Yet Another Carnival and Dark Olive in collaboration with the people of Luton

It’s 1919 and only the privileged are permitted into the Town Hall for national Peace Day celebrations. Fast forward 100 years and once again celebrations are laid out in the Luton Council Chamber for a special and exclusive event.

But will it go to plan? The night before a group of strangers barricade themselves in the chamber. They have been excluded for too long - it is time for a takeover. What will they do with the platform they have, how will they mark this 100 year anniversary?

The event is in the Luton Town Hall Council Chamber and audiences will be seated. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance. There are multiple seat types available that meet differing access needs, including wheelchair access. If you have a preferred seating type and/or any accessibility requirements you would like to discuss please phone 01582 54 6283 or email peoplepowerpassion@luton.gov.uk.

Immediately after the show on Friday 19 July you will be able to join us for the People Power Passion Centenary event in Luton Town Centre. Come earlier in the evening for a festival atmosphere in St George's Square, watch Riot Act in the Council Chamber and then join us outside for a riot of music, dance and projections. We recommend booking tickets for the Friday evening performance or Riot Act quickly, this will book out.

If you would like a sneek preview into Riot Act. Please join us for the preview on Wednesday 17th July at 7.30pm

Look forward to seeing you there!
