Meet Our Distinguished Speakers:

Peter Cheese, CIPD Chief Executive

Gain insights from a visionary leader shaping the future of HR on a global scale.

Peter is the CEO of the CIPD, the professional body for HR and People Development. He is also Chair of Engage for Success and the What Works Centre for Wellbeing, and on the Board of the College of Policing. He sits on many forums linked to wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, routes in to work and skills, flexible working, and corporate governance.

Peter writes and speaks widely on the development of HR, the future of work, and the key issues of leadership, culture and organisation, people and skills. In 2021, his second book ‘The New World of Work’ was published, exploring the many factors shaping work, workplaces, workforces and our working lives, and the principles around which we can build a future that is good for people, for business and for societies.

Prior to joining the CIPD in 2012 Peter was Chair of the Institute of Leadership and Management, an Executive Fellow at London Business School, and held a number of Board level roles. He had a long career in consulting at Accenture working with organisations around the world, and in his last seven years there was Global Managing Director for the firm’s human capital and organisation consulting practice.

He is a Fellow of the CIPD, a Fellow of AHRI (the Australian HR Institute), the Royal Society of Arts, and the Academy of Social Sciences. He’s also a Companion of the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Chartered Management Institute, and the British Academy of Management. He holds honorary doctorates from Bath University, Kingston University and Birmingham City University, and is a Visiting Professor at Aston University, and at Unitar University, Malaysia.

In addition, she was also recognised as one of Manchester's top coaches 2023. As the Chair of the CIPD Manchester, and career and business coach Samantha continues to help people make significant changes in their lives and teaches them how they can use their skills and abilities to reach their full potential.

Through her training and coaching, Samantha motivates individuals to take control of their lives and create positive outcomes for themselves. She inspires others with her commitment and enthusiasm, empowering them to bring about transformational changes in their personal and professional lives.

Martina Witter is a Director of Award Winning Rapha Therapy & Training Services, Accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Mindset coach ,Health and Wellbeing Consultant, Author , Podcast Host ( Rivers to Resilience), Blogger ,Resilience Trainer , Founder of Black Mental Wealth and Cofounder of Black Women in Business and Professionals Network.

Martina has over 20 years experience working within the wellbeing and mental health field helping diverse Individuals (children & Adults) to develop a strong mindset that allows them to turn bottlenecks into breakthroughs, increase performance and productivity in organizations. Due to her contributions to the field, she has been featured in HuffPost, Thrive Global, Metro, The Voice, and BBC Radio Manchester.

Martina delivers transformational, dynamic and experiential training whilst also having a passion to see Individuals thrive holistically in life through being revived, restored and refocused. Martina delivers Coaching and psychological therapy in innovative and accessible ways including online (video & instant messaging) and via telephone. Martina draws upon her life experiences including bereavements, rejection and stress to connect and empathize with her clients whilst sharing how she has successfully navigated adversity and utilized this for transformation and growth.

Martina has a passion for business, inclusivity and collaboration which is evident through Black Mental Wealth, a platform for Black and Mixed heritage Individuals which challenges the mentalhealth stigma and raises awareness of mental health along with culturally appropriate solutions.

Black Women in Business and Professionals Network (BWIBP) which improves opportunities for career and business growth through expanding networks and creating access to Black female role models. BWIBP runs quarterly networking events in Manchester hosting stellar business leaders and professionals as Speakers whilst also creating a community for Black Women to grow and raise awareness of local and national resources and events that can facilitate this.

Lee Chambers, Male `Allies UK and Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing


Lee Chambers is a British psychologist, male ally and speaker. He is the founder of Male Allies UK and Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing. Chambers was inducted as a Kavli Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences in 2023.


He has been interviewed by Vogue, The Guardian and Newsweek, and was recognised as a Gender Equality Changemaker by UN Women. He is one of the UK’s leading voices on male allyship and gender equity.


He was named as a Marie Claire Future Shaper 2022, alongside Harry Styles and Tom Daley, and was inducted into the Black Cultural Archives in 2022 for services to Business and Health.


He is trusted by publications such as Medical News Today, the BBC and Healthline, and recently featured as an expert in IKEA’s docuseries, “It won’t feel like home, ‘til it feels like you.”


Based in the North West, and working globally, he is passionate about inclusive leadership, male allyship and menopause awareness.

Maura Jackson, The Feather Fixer

Having overcome life events which would have broken many, Maura’s risen through mental health battles with resilience, and now lives for today, receiving standing ovations for her motivational speaking, has people crying with laughter with her standup, has bared all on Channel 4’s Naked Education to talk Menopause, and regularly wins awards for leadership and as an inspirational charity CEO.
