People's Voice Barking
Event Information
About this event
Britain today is not working for all of its people and communities.
That's why we're inviting you to join Margaret Hodge - Labour MP for Barking, employers, community leaders and young people to talk about the biggest issues facing Barking.
As Dame Margaret said:
“It has been three long and divisive years since the Brexit vote. In all that time there has been tragically little progress towards fixing the great challenges and inequalities that plague this country. Three years of banging on about Brexit has done nothing for our schools, our NHS or the businesses that power our economy, and it’s got us no nearer to solving issues like immigration and integration.''
That's why we want to start a conversation that begins with why so many people voted to Leave in 2016, and covers how we can tackle some of those issues, and whether a new referendum could be different. We want this to be different from the endless arguments over whether or not we should leave Europe because, frankly, it’s about time someone started thinking about how we can begin to heal the divisions in our country.
It’s not a rally. It’s not a debate. It’s the start of a conversation that’s long overdue.
We hope to see you there.
