What to Expect
A friendly, low-pressure space to try out new comedy in front of a small, supportive group. Each week, participants perform a few minutes of stand-up, character comedy, alternative comedy, spoken word, or comic poetry. You’ll then have a short one-to-one reflection, followed by constructive group feedback to help sharpen both material and delivery.
Sessions run for two hours with a short break, and group size is capped to ensure everyone gets a fair share of stage time — around 10 minutes each in total. Alongside your own set, you’ll learn from watching others, hearing how their material lands, and contributing your own insights.
Why Book?
A supportive and practical workshop that’s also fun. Test new ideas, build confidence, sharpen your performance and material, and connect with like-minded people.

Please note Cherry Reds is in an old building and the workshop takes place upstairs. Access is therefore limited. Please contact the organiser for more information or to discuss alternatives.
Another block of sessions are planned for 13, 20, and 27 October. These will build on the September workshops, with the content and style adjusted to reflect what we learn together. Further details will be provided soon, or keep an eye on this page: https://jimjudges.com/workshop.html
We should usually be able to get into the upstairs Bosta room about 15 minutes before the session starts (7:15 ready for 7:30pm) - if you arrive earlier there is plenty of seating around the venue, upstairs and down, with snacks and hot and cold drinks available.
