It's one (hard) thing to write a novel but it's quite another to summarise it in a pithy sales pitch that hooks the interest of an agent, publisher or reader. And that's what you're asked to do at Novel Slam (17th October at Victoria Works).
Whether you're entering Novel Slam or not, this annual session led by Beverley Ward will help you to hone your pitch and give you space to practise in a friendly, supportive environment.
Beverley Ward is the founder of The Writers Workshop and of Novel Slam. She won a Northern Writers Award and been trained in pitching by New Writing North. She's run this session for the last 12 years alongside Novel Slam and knows what ticks the judge's boxes!
The Writers Workshop is a nonprofit social enterprise on a mission to enable everyone to experience the joy and power of creative writing, both at our venue in Sheffield and online.
