Perfecting the fundamentals - Professional Cake Skills with Suzanne Thorp
Mon 27 February 2017, 10:00 – 17:00 GMT
If you love baking from home and making the most delicious cakes but want to refine and improve your decorating skills, then this one day class is just for you. We will consider how to professionally layer and stack a sponge cake, ready for ganaching which is the secret to achieving those perfect straight and sharp edges. We will cover the cake in sugarpaste and learn the techniques required to achieve a flawless finish.
We will make a sugar bow and some simple flowers including rolled roses and blossom flowers and use these to decorate our cakes, which we will take home.
These techniques will give you the confidence to make a cake for a variety of occasions.
