Description

Speaker : Roger Longden, There be Giants

Why appraisals are holding your business back, and what to do about them

Much has been vaunted about the death of the appraisal recently as an ever-increasing pace of business and shifting expectations of the new generation in the workplace put pressure on organisations to become more adaptive, agile and engaging in how they manage performance. But what are your options?

The good news is there's much we can learn from pioneers. For over 15 years, tech businesses such as Intel and Google were the early-adopters, now you have major multi-nationals like Accenture and Deloitte following suit. This session will introduce you to the 5 pillars of agile performance management and offer you a blueprint as a starting point for transformation.

About Roger:

Roger leads There be Giants, a performance management consultancy with a simple mission: to rid the world of the annual appraisal. They are doing this by working with businesses to help them develop and articulate strategy in an engaging way and then connect people and resources with it to motivate high performance. Their work spans Sport, Energy and Tech and through his research, Roger has built a reputation as a thought-leader with European speaking engagements and Guest Lecturing roles at MMU Business School.

Speaker : Victoria Quek, Senior HR leader , Barclays Bank.

Victoria will provide an insight of how far effective performance management design and implementation can bring about and embed meaningful cultural change. Barclays, along with many other financial institutions has undergone significant change since the financial crisis and its response to those challenges has focused largely on culture, with HR playing a pivotal role in many respects
