Performance Management - Guiding and Supporting Through Role Modelling
Overview
Managing performance is one of the hardest parts of being a leader in adult social care. Sometimes you need to be direct and firm. Other times, you need to coach, persuade, or step back to let people grow.
This 4-part webinar series explores performance management through the four approaches:
- Tell (Autocratic) - clear direction when performance must improve quickly.
- Show (Paternalistic) - supporting staff through guidance and role modelling.
- Sell (Democratic) - involving staff in solutions and securing buy-in.
- Grow (Laissez-Faire/Coaching) - empowering staff to take ownership and develop.
Each 1-hour session gives you practical tools for handling real performance issues in care, from addressing mistakes to helping staff flourish.
Who is it for?
- Team leaders, supervisors, deputy managers, and registered managers in adult social care.
- Anyone who manages staff and needs confidence in performance management
This second session explores: SHOW - Guiding and Supporting Through Role Modelling

Learning Outcomes:
- Recognise when to use modelling and mentoring in performance management.
- Learn how to guide staff through practice and feedback.
- Develop skills for building trust and supporting growth.
