Performing Arts (All Levels) - Audition / Interview

Level 1 Applicants:

We are pleased to invite you to book your Interview . Please select an interview date and you will be called by a member of the teaching team on your chosen date to discuss the reasons for your application.

Level 2 and 3 Applicants:

We are pleased to invite you to book your Audition at Suffolk New College.

You will need to perform and record two of the following disciplines that demonstrate your skill. Your pieces should be no longer than 1.5 minutes each:

Dance: Your dance piece should be in a Contemporary or Jazz style. We would prefer that you avoid hip-hop or break-dance. You will need to provide your own backing track.

Singing: Your song should be from a stage musical. We would prefer that you avoid tribute shows similar to Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You. Please bring with you your backing track, or you are welcome to sing a cappella. Please let us know if you’re bringing sheet music and require a pianist.

Acting: Your monologue should be from a published play and not self-devised, monologues from films are not suitable. The play can be either Classical (Shakespeare, Marlowe, Chekov etc...) or Contemporary (Post 1956).

Once completed, please email your audition pieces to CADSIadmin@suffolk.ac.uk. On your interview date a member of the teaching team will call you to discuss your pieces and to assess your suitability for the course.
