Perfume Concert: A Crossmodalist Classical Music and Dance event.
Chris Lloyd - Piano
Elizabeth Simeons - Dance
Nadjib Achaibou - Perfume
How can our senses interact in a way to enhance our experience of classical music? Crossmodalism began in 2013 as a way to explore this question, primarily through the combination of flavour/taste to create an experiential concert of Franz Liszt's Annees de Pelerinage, Deuxieme Annee: Italie.
In 2016, Crossmodalism has grown to be an international, multi-disciplinary movement, with practioners spread throughout Europe, the USA, and South America. With the Perfume Concert, Co-founders Chris Lloyd and Nadjib Achaibou are returning to the stage to explore the relationship between smell, music, and visual stimulation. Elizabeth Simeons will join to present a dance piece inspired by Ravel's seminal work, La Valse.
The Perfume Concert was first presented in June 2016, with support from the Anthony Fletcher Award, University of Oxford.
