Perinatal Pelvic Health Service – supporting pregnant women and birthing people with their pelvic health
By April 2024, every Integrated Care Board (ICB) in England was required to commission a Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS). The goal of this initiative is to prevent, identify, and ensure timely access to pelvic health care for pregnant women and birthing people.
In this webinar, Jenna Louise Sweeney will provide an overview of the national PPHS requirements and offer practical guidance for primary care colleagues. Topics covered will include:
- First-line advice and management expectations
- How to enquire about symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction
- The use of self-assessment questionnaires
- When and how to refer into the PPHS
- The role of the specialist multidisciplinary team (MDT) in assessment and treatment planning
