Permission to Pause: A Retreat Day for Deep Self-Connection

By The Loud Quiet

Overview

Let’s gently turn inwards in rest and reflection. Be supported to connect with your body + emotions, through breathwork + somatic practices.

As the gentler pace of winter descends upon us and the year starts to close, give yourself permission to pause before before the the festive season gets underway. Enjoy this spacious, restorative gift to your soul and remember how rest feels deep within. 💆🏻‍♀️

Engage in nourishing, thoughtfully chosen practices for reflection and renewal, like conscious breathwork, somatic inquiry, guided journalling and uplifting creativite activities (just for the pure joy), in a supportive container with other kind souls. From a qualified somatic practitioner and breathwork facilitator, Rebecca Ryder.

I will be supported in breathwork by wonderful somatic practitioner and my peer partner from training, Andrew Blakemore.

❤️ Feedback from the last retreat day included:

⭐ “It was a great experience and one I felt I really needed...I have had a lot of upset around me and my experience was very profound. The clarity it has given me has been reassuring so I thank you.”

⭐️ “Just wanted to thank you so much for today. I really appreciated the safe space and being supported to be calm and relax.”

⭐️ “I really wanted to say I so enjoyed your session. I had never done anything like that before, I really embraced every moment and am trying to use some of the breathwork techniques I learnt from you. It was lovely to do this with such lovely people. And credit to you for the way you engage with everyone, and your caring, encouraging nature. I hope to be back at another session soon.”

“You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realising who you are at the deepest level." ― Eckhart Tolle

“We are the ones we've been waiting for.” – Alice Walker

How often do you allow yourself to prioritise you? Listen to your inner calling and take this opportunity to be guided in coming into stillness and feeling joy. Make space for more contentment, while safely meeting whatever arises along the way. Allow your nervous system to settle and soften and rediscover your spark, away from the chaos of everyday life. In a beautiful grade II listed building, inside award-winning gardens.

Perhaps you'd like to reconnect with what lights you up inside and brings you a sense of passion or purpose. Maybe you need a safe space to let go of what you no longer need, and be held in processing long-held emotions. In this supportive container, you can release mental clutter and be fully present to wants to be felt within you. No expectations to be anything other than your most authentic self, showing up just as you are.

Find deep self-acceptance, inner compassion and new inspiration by tuning out all the noise. Be supported to meet emotional wounds, unmet needs and stuckness in the body. From a trauma-informed, internationally-trained space holder who continues to do the inner work herself, bringing her own experiences of navigating ADHD, past anxiety disorders and loss.

Be with yourself in all your humanness, taking a softer approach to finding your inner potential, loving yourself more and living life intentionally.

Group activities will include:

🧘 Conscious connected breathwork

A powerful, therapeutic practice to help you get better at feeling (it's not about 'feeling better' through emotional bypassing, but lovingly meeting what may have been suppressed), release stress and anxiety, and access your rest and repair state

✍ Guided journalling to access your subconscious mind

Reflecting on 2025 with intention, self-compassion and conscious surrender. Unravel repetitive thoughts and let go of overthinking, to get clear on your inner wisdom, limiting patterns and deeper desires

🎨 Creative play through a relaxed art activity, for the pure joy and fun (no skill needed)

Creative expression has been shown to reduce stress, improve mental health and help us access our thoughts and emotions. Reconnect with your innate creativity and free your imagination, giving the thinking mind a break from figuring out answers

🫀 Somatic inquiry practices

Connect with your body and emotions, listening to what wants to be processed and unravelled with compassion. Gain new clarity by attuning to the body and releasing mental overwhelm, learning the tools for addressing stuck emotions and points of physical tension

🌳 Mindful nature walk (short; 10-15 mins)

Be led in a group as you silently connect with the natural world in its wintry glory. Invite deep presence to how your body feels as you move intentionally and observe beauty, noticing your senses come alive.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” – Carl Jung

“When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.” – Lao Tzu

About me:

I am fully accredited as a facilitator of breathwork and integrative somatic release. I carried out training in the UK, Mexico, Spain and Canada, holding space for and supporting participants from around the world. I now love bringing this work to local communities, creating reassuring, uplifting and relaxing spaces for healing and expansion. I'm also committed to continuously deepening my training, and expanding my own personal growth, in the field of somatic healing 💛

Personally, I have found breathwork incredibly powerful for managing ADHD symptoms, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) and some difficult life events. It has been pivotal in my emotional wellbeing and physical health, and is now an essential practice for looking after my mind and body. 💆🏻‍♀️

As well as Manchester breathwork classes, I also offer 1:1 somatic therapy sessions.
