Person-centred healthcare: measuring what matters most
Wed 24 May 2017, 18:30 – 19:30 BST
Paula Kersten, Head of the School of Health Sciences and Professor of Physiotherapy at the Unviersity of Brighton, presents her inaugural lecture:
“Person-centred healthcare: measuring what matters most”
In a restrained healthcare environment it is increasingly important to better understand how we can work more effectively in getting the best outcomes for patients and disabled people. Equally important is determining which outcomes matters most to those we work with and ensuring we develop the best outcome measures with a person centred focus. In this presentation Professor Kersten will challenge some ways in which we use and interpret measures in healthcare and illustrate potential pitfalls. She will use examples of her research to argue for a more robust and meaningful approach to person-centred measurement.
the lecture will take place between 6.30-7.30pm and is followed by a canapé reception
