Oxford Technology & Media Presents

January Networking Event 2018

PERSONAL & BUSINESS BRANDING

Me, Myself and Irene’

Monday 15th January 2018, 6.00pm to 9.00pm

Venue: The Story Museum, 42 Pembroke Street, Oxford, OX1 1BP

In today's social media driven business world, standing out from the pack has become a real challenge. Even if you can build a successful online or Twitter following there is no guarantee that your skills or your proposition will be understood, and less so if it cannot be deciphered from a large set of search results. Employers and customers have neither the time or the patience.

‘Why are you different?’ is the cry or ‘Why should we buy from you?’

Oxford Technology and Media is delighted to welcome Nat Schooler, IBM Futurist, Podcaster, Writer & Brand Marketing Coach, to talk about personal and business branding in a simple and straightforward manner. Rather than get lost in the SEO results, Nat will discuss how you set about thinking about what you stand for, what your business means and how you can put simple but effective strategies in place to build a brand that is authentic and will last the test of time.

This event is free of charge for OTM members - contact us for more details if you don't have your special link for the free ticket. Non-members can attend for £30. (Amounts are subject to Eventbrite fees). The event will be held in the centre of Oxford at The Story Museum, 42 Pembroke St, OX1 1BP. Click here for directions.

6.00pm – Event Opens, Networking, Coffee & Refreshments
Buffet food and drinks will be available after the event
9pm - Close

Speaker Biography

Nat SchoolerNat Schooler

Podcaster, Writer & Brand Marketing Coach

Nat is an engaging podcast host, writer & brand marketing coach, who builds brands for career and business success. He is a LinkedIn Power Profile Award Winner and an Official IBM Futurist.

Nat was born into a long established entrepreneurial family, on both sides, and from an early age understood the struggles that business leaders go through to build their skills, their brands and to create jobs.

His father influenced him during his early years, teaching over 2,500 post graduate business students and Nat went on to work with him in their family wine business. Nat’s father studied industrial management at MIT and ran Flush Metal Corp with Nat’s grandfather in the 1950s and 1960s until moving to the UK 45 years ago.

Nearly 10 years ago Nat left his family’s boutique wine business to become an independent consultant and acquired the knowledge, insights and skills to leverage the use of his personal brand.

In his own words:

Prior experience in premium retail, wholesale and export taught me business communication is about real-world relationships, avoiding techno speak and meaningless jargon.

Today I am grateful to have access to a portfolio of global technical expertise and experience to create wonderful opportunities from empowering and guiding people to take control of their brands.

Using time honoured branding processes and best practices, a heavy dose of infectious enthusiasm and the right interpersonal skills to achieve success, my work is with businesses of all sizes from solopreneurs, start-ups and SME’s to Microsoft and IBM.

To grow the values of businesses and brand online and offline, every story must be crafted to be clearly focus on engaging, connecting and forging commitment with all stakeholders and your business.

I continue to set new expectations for brand marketing campaigns and am always ‘reviewing’ business strategies!

I am grateful to live this: “If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life” Lao Tzu
