PARTICIPANTS

This conference will be relevant to legal professionals, practitioners, policy makers, academics and anyone with a professional interest in personal injury law in Scotland.

SPEAKERS

Darrell Kaye, Partner, Digby Brown. Darrell qualified as a personal injury solicitor in 2004 and was made partner in 2011. She is an expert in personal injury claims and specialises in accident at work claims and road traffic accident claims. Darrell is accredited as a Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is also accredited as a specialist in Personal Injury Law by the Law Society of Scotland. She litigates personal injury claims in both the Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session.

Gordon Dalyell, Partner, Digby Brown. Gordon qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate in 2003. He has been accredited as a specialist in Personal Injury Law by the Law Society of Scotland. He is a senior litigator member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and has been the Executive Committee member for Scotland since 2010. In 2017, and again in 2018, he was elected as Vice-President of the Association.

Jenny Dickson, Partner, Morton Fraser. Jenny specialises in personal injury and professional negligence. Jenny’s diverse case work ranges from high value occupational disease cases to professional negligence actions. As a solicitor advocate, Jenny regularly represents clients in the Court of Session. Jenny is considered as a Next Generation Lawyer by Legal 500 in personal injury.

David McKinney, Partner, Jackson Boyd Solicitors. David McKinney is a Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and his firm are members of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS). He joined Jackson Boyd in 1998. He is a Litigation Partner specialising in personal injury claims arising from road traffic accidents.

Craig Murray, Advocate, Compass Chambers. Craig has a busy personal injury practice in the Court of Session. He mostly acts for insurance companies, local authorities and self-insuring businesses in employer’s liability claims and road traffic accident claims. He has particular experience in defending fraudulent claims. Craig was appointed as Advocate Depute ad hoc in 2015 and called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2017.
