Event description

Description

We are working at a time of unprecedented change and uncertainty and our work requires us to support those in distress or struggling with life. This in turn can impact on our own health and wellbeing. Building personal resilience is an important in enabling us to cope with and protect us from the stressors inherent in our work.

This one day course is part of Health in Mind core learning for staff and volunteers.

The aim of this course is that those participating have greater knowledge about how to protect and build their personal resilience.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand what resilience is and why it matters

  • Be better able to recognising when things are starting to go wrong

  • Have an awareness of strategies to cope with in the moment pressure

  • Have an awareness of strategies to cope with longer term pressure

The course is being developed by Wendy Bates, Depute Chief Executive, who has been developing and delivering training for staff and volunteers inside Health in Mind for around 15 years. In her current and recent roles she has developed services that support well-being and resilience.
