This course is available to all employees but is mandatory for certain levels of staff (see below)


Course Title: Personal Resilience

This training provides line management strategies for improving your own and developing team resilience. It covers how resilience, stress and pressure relate to each other and signposts additional resource material.

Delegate outcomes include skills and knowledge on:

  • various aspects of personal resilience and how to improve them to recover quickly from setbacks and adversity;
  • to respond positively to the pressures and demands of modern working life and to help them identify opportunities to enhance performance, leadership and wellbeing at work;
  • maintain performance and stamina during periods of high demand and be able to think clearly and logically under pressure;
  • understanding the importance of self-care during periods of high demands and pressure;
  • the importance of building strong, supportive relationships with colleagues and members of their teams;
  • develop the ability to stay motivated and focused while using resilient leadership strategies to maintain morale in others;
  • realising when and where to ask for help;

The Personal Resilience course is designed to assist you in your ability to recover quickly from setbacks and adversity. It used to be thought that people were born with resilient attributes; we now know that anyone can improve their resilience through effective training and development.

This course is mandatory for certain levels staff. They are:

  • Elected Members
  • Corporate Management Team (CMT)
  • Extended Corporate Management Team (ECMT)
  • Tier 3 Line Managers + High Risk Tier 4 Line Managers
  • Tier 4 Line Managers

This course is optional for Health and Safety Representatives and Employees.
