St Pancras Renaissance Hotel is delighted to announce the next in its series of complimentary weekly masterclasses, run as part of Renaissance Hotels global entertainment programme, Evenings at Ren. Throughout December, the hotel will be holding ‘Personalise Your Own Eye Mask’ masterclasses in partnership with Longstaff Longstaff, the premium British silk loungewear brand.
The masterclass series is designed to help guests and visitors learn a new skill or find a hidden talent. Working with local businesses and cultural organisations, the sessions are held in the hotel’s new eatery, MI + ME, which is located on the Upper Concourse of St Pancras International Station.
Longstaff Longstaff is known for applying original, hand-designed prints to high quality silk to create a feminine, refined aesthetic. The brand puts passionate focus into features that ensure their loungewear is truly unique. These include using French seams and mitred corners, hand selecting Mother-of-Pearl buttons and applying long, sharp collars designed exclusively by bespoke shirt-maker Sean O’Flynn. Sourced and manufactured in Britain, the beautiful collection (which includes silk robes, tunics, pyjamas and camisoles) is available in four different stories, each with a natural, elegant narrative.
Longstaff Longstaff is headed up by Creative Director, Sophie Barnard. The company is named after the British side of Sophie’s family. Her paternal grandmother was one of seven sisters who each had the middle name, as well as the surname, Longstaff. She also belonged to the architectural powerhouse family headed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the hotel’s architect.
Running on 3 Tuesdays in December, masterclasses (led by Sophie) will offer attendees the chance to learn and develop some fundamental sewing skills. After a guided embellishment demonstration (including how to add beads, trimmings and sequins) attendees will be given their own silk eye mask, to personalise as they wish.
