Join us for our upcoming webinar where we will be exploring the key drivers behind health inequalities, utilising a population health approach. We will be sharing our experience of tackling inequalities in health outcomes by supporting patients from diverse backgrounds to address key lifestyle factors and behaviours.
Special guest Dr. Anju Gupta will be joining us as part of the panel. Dr. Anju Gupta, is a General Practitioner and Barking and Dagenham Commissioner; she will be sharing her experience of working with Oviva to support people living with diabetes over the past year.
The work that we have done with Dr. Anju Gupta and NHS North East London Clinical Commissioning Group in Barking and Dagenham has been shortlisted for this year’s HSJ award- Most Impactful Project Addressing Health Inequalities.
This award shortlisting recognises the collaborative efforts with NHS North East London Clinical Commissioning Group and the dedication to addressing the needs of their diverse communities over the last 12 months by removing barriers to access and providing care that is personalised to the needs and the socioeconomic and cultural background of individuals.
Speakers
Lucy Diamond
Lucy Diamond is an award-winning, experienced Diabetes Specialist Dietitian, having gained a decade of knowledge and skills working in a leading, internationally recognised Diabetes Centre at King's College London. Her current role as the Head of Clinical at Oviva combines management and leadership with research-based practice. Lucy takes the lead in developing and evaluating evidence-based diabetes structured education and diabetes prevention and remission programmes, whilst continuing her clinical practice and managing the care quality of the team delivering Oviva’s Diabetes programmes.
Dr. Neel Gupta
Dr Neel Gupta is Medical Lead at Oviva. He is an experienced clinician and respected health system leader. He has worked as a GP in London for 12 years alongside holding a variety of senior clinical leadership roles, primarily in NHS commissioning. Neel was previously the Chair of NHS Camden CCG in North London for 3 years and remains a board member of NHS North Central London CCG. He has spent many years focused on improving outcomes for patients living with long term conditions by designing and delivering innovative models of care. More recently, his passion for prevention, behaviour change support and the use of digital technology has led him to Oviva. He is a strong advocate for greater investment in proactive and preventative services to both improve individual patients’ health and wellbeing and to help address the escalating challenges currently faced by the health service, in particular tackling entrenched health inequalities.
Ryan Anderson
Ryan has dedicated over 20 years to developing innovative partnerships with the NHS to improve patient access to specialist services and treatments. More recently, Ryan made the move to Oviva to help drive forward their mission as the leader in digital health for diabetes. Ryan began his career at Nutricia ltd where his key focus was on nutrition, this lead him to the pharmaceutical industry where he dedicated the last 17 years, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing at Napp Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Anju Gupta
Clinical Lead for Diabetes, BHR CCGs and Clinical Champion, Diabetes UK Dr. Anju Gupta will be sharing her experience of working with Oviva to help improve access to care in her local community. Dr. Anju Gupta has a Master's degree in Advanced Diabetes Care from Kings College London following her analysis of diabetes management in a deprived London borough and is now celebrating 12 years at North East London NHS Foundation Trust.
