Perspectives on Violence - the impact of gangs on members, their families and their communities

About this Event

The ‘Perspectives on Violence’ conference 2020 focuses on how individuals, their families and communities are impacted by gangs and violence.

The conference brings together former gang members, experts and practitioners from Essex and around the country to explore how young or vulnerable people become involved in county lines, gangs and serious violence. Through listening to key note speakers and taking part in workshops the conference aims for delegates to gain a deeper insight around the causes of violence and effective ways to tackle and prevent it.

The conference will take place on Friday 13th March, 9.30 – 15.30 at the Colchester JobServe Community Stadium, Mile End, Colchester, Essex, CO4 5UP. A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.

This event is led by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex and the Essex Violence and Vulnerability Partnership which includes a wide range of organisations, including police, local authorities, health bodies, criminal justice agencies and voluntary sector. The partnership works to address and reduce violence and vulnerability across Southend, Essex and Thurrock.
