Perspectives: Parenthood in Architecture
Tuesday 9th March 5.30 – 6.30pm
Following a ‘coffee and a chat’ format, and open to all, this event will create a forum for people to share experiences of being a parent in the Architectural profession. Particularly how the pandemic has changed how we juggle work and parenthood, discussing the ways in which practices can support employees to achieve an effective work-life balance and what strategies can we retain going forward as practices begin returning to the studio.
Hosted by RIBA West Midlands Regional Director and Mum of two Becki Smith, our experience-sharing forum will open the discussion on the pros and cons of parenting in a pandemic. Brainstorming positive solutions for the future, whilst providing a safe space to share tips and experiences - the good, the bad, and the ugly!
We shall be joined by:
Emma Cochrane - BHB Architects Associate
Lisa Gakunga - Build a Kiondo Associate
Olivia Firth - Project Team Leader at Baily Garner LLP
Nenpin Dimka - PhD Candidate & BAA Student Ambassador
Emma Glover - Glancy Nicholls Associate
Please note: this event will not be recorded.
This is a free event but booking is essential with spaces limited.
We look forward to seeing you there!
