Event Details

250,000 visitors are expected to attend The Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in September and the majority of these will be visitors who stay overnight. Visitors to The Ryder Cup are projected to spend over £100 million during the period of the event.

Research shows that food and drink is a key element of the overall experience of any visit to Scotland. Visitors want to enjoy quality Scottish sourced food and drink and are willing to pay a little extra for it.

Are you ready to offer a food and drink experiences that will –

  • -       add a wow factor to visitors’ time in Scotland?
  • -       provide visitors with unique and memorable flavours of Scotland?
  • -       encourage visitors to stay longer, spend more and come back again?
  • -       inspire visitors to recommend Scotland to friends and family?
  • -       add value to your bottom line profitability?

Experiencing Scotland is a national initiative that has supported and assisted almost 200 tourism operators to enhance their food and drink offer through using and promoting local, Scottish produce.

This workshop is an informal, participative and fun event that will help you to –

  • understand the business case for offering quality local, Scottish food and drink.
  • identify where and how you can source locally.
  • develop menus that highlight quality Scottish food and drink.
  • add value and increase profitability by telling the stories of the food and drink you offer. 
  • Highlight VisitScotland's new Taste Our Best Quality Assurance scheme.  

This free workshop is organised in association with Perthshire Tourism Partnership (PTP) and places are limited so will be allocated on a first come, first serve . A light buffet supper will be served at the beginning of the evening to stimulate your taste buds and brain cells.
